From Rising Bills to Energy Independence
At 1 Cutliffe Road, our customer wanted to take control of rising electricity costs and future-proof their home against increasing energy prices.
Our team designed and installed a tailored Solar PV and Battery Storage system, completed in just one day — delivering immediate savings and outstanding performance.
Solar Battery Storage Installed
8 × LONGi Hi-MO X10 480W All-Black Mono Solar Panels
Fox ESS H1 G2 3.68kW Hybrid Inverter
Fox EP6 Plus 5.76kWh Lithium-Ion Battery Storage System
The all-black panel design complements the property aesthetically while maximising generation efficiency.

Installation Timeline
The full Solar PV and Battery Storage system at 1 Cutliffe Road was completed efficiently within a single working day. Careful planning and preparation allowed our installation team to minimise disruption to the homeowner while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
By the end of the installation, the system had been fully commissioned, tested, and made operational, allowing the customer to begin generating and storing renewable energy immediately.
System Performance
Since commissioning, the property has achieved outstanding performance results. The home is currently operating at approximately 95% energy self-sufficiency, meaning only around 5% of electricity demand is imported from the national grid.

It is important to note that, even with solar panels and battery storage installed, UK residential properties remain connected to the grid. This ensures continuous power availability during periods of exceptionally low solar generation or unusually high energy demand. As a result, a small level of grid import will always remain part of a typical system’s operation.
Energy Costs: Before and After Installation
Prior to installation, the homeowner’s electricity costs reflected typical UK household energy expenditure.
Before Installation
Monthly electricity usage: £64
Standing charge: £14.68
Total monthly cost: £78.68
Following the installation of solar panels and battery storage, grid electricity consumption has reduced dramatically.
After Installation
Average electricity usage: approximately £2 per month
Standing charge: £14.68
Total monthly cost: approximately £16.68
The significant reduction in imported electricity has resulted in substantially lower ongoing energy bills, providing immediate financial benefit alongside long-term protection against future energy price increases.
Battery Performance & Export Income
The installed battery system consistently reaches full charge each day using surplus solar energy generated during daylight hours. This stored energy powers the home during evenings and lower generation periods, maximising self-consumption.
At a typical monitoring point during the afternoon (approximately 3–4pm), system performance recorded:
Solar generation: 878W
Household consumption: 175W
Battery status: Fully charged
Export to grid: 18W

Once household demand and battery charging requirements have been met, any additional electricity is automatically exported back to the grid.
Through participation in the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) scheme, exported energy earns the homeowner approximately 15p per kWh. These export payments provide an additional financial benefit, and in many months effectively offset remaining electricity and standing charges, bringing the property close to overall energy cost neutrality.
Designed Specifically for This Home
No two homes are the same, which is why every installation we undertake is individually designed.
Factors such as roof orientation, shading, household energy usage, property size, and lifestyle patterns all influence system performance. Our design team conducted a detailed assessment of the property to ensure the installed system delivers optimal efficiency, maximum savings, and long-term reliability.
This tailored approach allows homeowners to achieve the greatest possible return from their investment in renewable energy.
Customer Result
The installation at 1 Cutliffe Road has delivered exceptional results for the homeowner, including:
A substantial reduction in electricity bills
Daily battery self-sufficiency
Income generated through exported energy
Greater protection against future energy price increases
The customer is delighted with the outcome and now benefits from predictable, low-cost energy supported by renewable generation and intelligent storage technology.
Important Disclaimer
Performance results, savings, export income, and self-sufficiency levels will vary between properties.
Outcomes depend on several factors, including property location, roof orientation, household electricity consumption, system size and specification, weather conditions, and the Smart Export Guarantee tariff offered by the homeowner’s energy supplier.
Our team designs every system individually to achieve the best possible performance for each property.
